ISIS, RAL: interested in any other these courses please send an email to nick.draper@stfc.ac.uk Wednesday 6th April 1-5pm: Mantid Introduction "An introduction to the Mantid interface, how to graph and visualize your data, manipulate it with the built in algorithms, together with an introduction to curve fitting and live data analysis." Thursday 7th April 9-12am: Introduction to Python "This half day course will introduce you to the Python scripting language, no previous experience required, although some understanding of loops and conditional (if .. then) logic will be expected." Thursday 7th September 1-5pm: Python in Mantid "This course concentrates on using Python to build analysis scripts within Mantid as well as controlling the Mantid GUI from python, and accessing the underlying data within Mantid workspaces." F riday 8th September 9-5pm: Extending Mantid using Python "For the more adventurous among you this full day course will introduce you to the many ways you can use Python to extend the capabilities within Mantid adding Python Algorithms and curve fitting functions, as well as diving deeper into the structure of workspaces."

EU COST MP1207 Event: Combined Training School ASTRA toolbox and PhD school on Mathematics of Tomography in Copenhagen 4-6 Apr 2016

04/04/2016 - 09:00

April 4-6 2016: Training School on Algebraic Reconstruction Methods in Tomography: www.imm.dtu.dk/~pcha/HDtomo/COSTtrainingschool.html and then April 6-8: HD-Tomo Days: http://hd-tomo-days.compute.dtu.dk/ In the training school we give a rigorous mathematical description of the reconstruction methods, the associated algebraic models, and the underlying linear algebra, followed by hands-on MATLAB computer exercises that illustrate these methods. The goal is that the participants will get a basic understanding of the formulation, implementation, and use of the algebraic methods, and thus be able to use them for their own CT problems. The workshop aims at bringing together researchers who are interested in mathematical and computational aspects of modern tomographic imaging methods that build on advanced PDE analysis, regularization, and optimization. It will feature invited talks, contributed talks, poster presentations, and dedicated discussion sessions. The goal is to demonstrate the latest tomography-relevant research by leading experts, to allow young researchers a chance to present their work, and to provide a forum for direct exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and ideas.
