Digital Volume Correlation (DVC) is a tool for the extraction of deformation information from in situ tomography sequences. This presentation provides practical experience in the set-up and execution of DVC code developed through collaborative research between Prof. Brian Bay (Oregon State University, USA) and Prof. Peter Lee (RCaH, UCL) and managed as a Collaborative Computational Project in Tomographic Imaging (CCPi) by the Scientific Computing Department, STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. The code is designed in a software format that is customizable and expandable, with better control of basic functionality than provided by typical commercial codes. DVC requires background knowledge in order to identify successful applications, configure the DVC process, and post-process results. This presentation will provide the general information required for successful DVC, and the specific details needed to get the most from this new DVC instantiation.

Location: Diamond Meeting Room 59 (turn right at the entrance)
